Butt Facing Three Game Ban

The Blues midfielder was dismissed just seconds before the half time whistle at Fratton Park for an off-the-ball incident where he was seen by the linesman to have kicked-out at Pompey midfielder Dario Silva who himself was shown a yellow card by match official Dermot Gallagher.
Butt's red-card for violent conduct will mean he will have to serve an automatic three game ban.
He will miss the Carling Cup game against Scunthorpe and the two difficult Premier League games against Liverpool and Arsenal.
