The Blues left-back, who has been troubled with a hamstring injury, restricting him to just two first team substitute appearances since the away win at Leicester on December 13th, has now gone down with a bout of Shingles.
It had been hoped that Clapham would be in contention for a recall to the squad for the home game with Middlesbrough on Wednesday night but this latest news now seems certain to have ruled out any hopes of that happening.
