Claphams Record In Doubt

Last updated : 23 December 2003 By Brian Cartlidge

The Blues left back is struggling to be fit in time for the clash with Manchester City at St. Andrew's on Friday afternoon.

Clapham is carrying a hamstring injury that may well have forced him to miss last saturdays postponed game against Middlesbrough and is facing a race against time to be fit for the game against Kevin Keegans side.

The popular defender has been named first choice left-back in every one of Steve Bruce's sides so far this season and never been substituted or never been yellow-carded. No other Premiership outfield player has managed this.
