Clinton on revenge mission

Last updated : 30 November 2002 By Brian Cartlidge
The Blues record signing was heartbroken when Spurs rejected him at the age of 16 which almost forced him to give up football for good.

"I'd been with them as a schoolboy and thought I'd done well but they released me," Clinton says in todays Evening Mail.

"I was devastated. It hit me hard, I was at an all-time low because it was my club. I was ready to give up football, I really was.

"I've never ever played against Spurs so I cannot wait for Saturday. I suppose I will have extra motivation for the game, hopefully I can show them what they might have missed.

"The crowd's going to be packed in again and the atmosphere will be great. We've got to do the business for them."
