Clinton Responds To Sunderland Claims

Media reports today were claiming that the Republic of Ireland international would be keen to team up with his ex-national team boss Mick McCarthy at The Stadium of Light.

However, Morrison has told the clubs official website that the things written in todays press were quotes he made to an Irish reporter about three months ago when he was on the road to recovery from a shoulder injury and contemplating a loan move in a bid to regain match fitness.

“Yes, it was suggested very early in the season about the possibility of me going out on loan because I’d been out injured for so long with a dislocated shoulder,” Morrison told www.bcfc.com

“But I spoke to the manager Steve Bruce and we came to the conclusion that it would be best for me to work hard here and get my match fitness in the reserves and that’s what I’ve done.

“The actual article itself first appeared three or four months ago and that’s where today’s stories have been picked up from.

“It isn’t true anymore and I’m happy here and I just want to wait for my chance to come.”
