COLY SIGNS!

Blues will then have the option to sign Coly on a permanent three-year contract.

An attacking right-back, Coly joins up with Senegal international team mate Aliou Cisse at St. Andrew's.

"I spoke to Aliou about Birmingham and he told me that they were a good team and they can do well in the Premiership," said Coly.

"I think Steve Bruce is a good manager and I met with him in Lens last week and I was impressed with what he had to say.

"Although I can't play any matches until January 1st, hopefully I will be able to join in the training sessions later this month."

"Lens made it clear I was not part of their future and my style of play is best suited to the English game."

Coly will not be able to play in the New Year's Day clash at Leeds United however, because the transfer window does not open until that day and he would have needed to be registered with the Premier League by December 31st.

International clearance will then be needed and this normally takes 2 to 3 days to come through - making the FA Cup third round on January 4or 5th a more likely date for Coly to make his Blues debut.
