Coly's now finding his feet

After just over four months at St. Andrew's the Senegal international, signed on loan from French side Lens, has made just two appearances for the first team, the last coming against Arsenal at the beginning of January.

However, after a short spell on the sidelines through injury, Coly has started to impress the Blues boss with some eye-catching performances for the Reserves.

"The thing about Ferdinand is that he's taken a bit of time to adjust," Bruce told the B'ham Evening Mail.

"It's always a risk when you sign foreign players. Can they adapt quickly? No matter what you say or who you are, overseas players do find our football tough.

"Christophe Dugarry, after 10 games, is still scratching his head and wondering 'what's it all about?'

"I've read comments by Arsene Wenger who said it takes a foreign player a year to adapt.

"Ferdinand is just starting to show us exactly what he's all about. He was excellent in the reserves on Thursday night."
