Compensation clause added to Bruce's contract

The estimated £1.5million compensation clause has been added to the contract to shy-off any would-be club's interested in trying to prize away the Blues boss from St. Andrew's.

Media speculation has been linking Bruce with the assistant manager's role at his old club Manchester United, left vacant following the departure of Carlos Queiroz to Real Madrid.

"We are fully aware that Steve Bruce is one of the best young managers around and that is why the compensation clause has been placed in his new contract," chairman David Gold said.
