Cunningham injury blow

Last updated : 28 December 2002 By Brian Cartlidge

Cunningham limped off in the 63rd minute at Old Trafford and will be sidelined for up to six weeks.

Blues finished the game against United with striker Geoff Horsfield in a makeshift centre-half role, leaving boss Steve Bruce with a defensive crisis ahead of Wednesday's game against Leeds as Olivier Tebily, Darren Purse, Martin Grainger and Steve Vickers are all out with injuries.

"Maybe I'll have to ask Sir Alex if I can borrow someone," joked the Blues boss.

"Kenny is looking at four to six weeks on the sidelines and this is turning into a very worrying situation for us."
