Damien back for Sunderland trip

The Blues midfielder came through 54 minutes of action for the reserves in their 2-0 victory over Liverpool on Monday night with no after-effects and comes back into the squad for the game at The Stadium of Light on Saturday.

"You've always got be careful with muscle injuries and Jonty's never had a hamstring problem before, but he's a naturally fit lad and has worked his socks off to get back, said Blues boss Steve Bruce.

"Definitely, he will be in contention. He's emerged into such an important player for us."
