Butt was senn to react angrily towards the referee's assistant as he left the pitch following his sending off for kicking out at Pompey midfielder Dario Silva.
The Blues midfielder, who is currently serving a three game ban for the red card at Fratton Park, has admitted to the additional charges but requested a personal hearing.
The FA have now confirmed that a Disciplinary Commission will hear his case on Tuesday 4th October.
If found guilty Butt could face a further two-game ban.
