Defender Deal Not Dead Yet?

Last updated : 11 January 2004 By Brian Cartlidge

Blues boss Steve Bruce is keeping up his policy of refusing to name players that he is interested in bringing to the club but last week stories of his attempts to sign the Blackburn centre-back were leaked.

It was reported that the Blues boss had failed with an estimated £1.5million for the one-time England Under-21 international with Rovers claiming they did not wish to sell Taylor 'at this time'.

However, media reports over the weekend are claiming that a deal to bring 24-year-old Taylor to St. Andrews is still very much alive.

Bruce is also believed to have lodged a bid for an un-named Premiership left-sided player.
