Defender To Miss Seasiders Match

The Blues right-back damaged ankle ligaments during the 2-1 away win against Bristol City on Tuesday night and manager Alex McLeish has confirmed that he is likely to be without the players service's for a week or two.

Stephen Kelly, who has started just once so far this season, will replace Parnaby for Saturday's game against the Seasiders at St Andrews.

"There's no massive swelling, but there is a bit of ligament damage. We don't think he will be out for too long. It's not as bad as we first feared."

"We've an excellent replacement to come in. Steve's been champing at the bit," McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.

"He was a bit unlucky to be out at the start of the season because he got an injury and we liked what we saw from Parnaby, his attitude and his form was very good.

"Steve's wee injury stopped him starting the season.

"We don't want too many disruptions, but the good thing is that I can put a player in there I can trust."
