Devlin faces three-game ban

Devlin was sent off for foolishly kicking out in frustration at Livingston trialist Gus Bahoken and Blues expect Edinburgh referee Douglas McDonald to report the incident, which would mean a three-game ban for violent conduct.

"Unfortunately that's just the way I am, I reacted to what he was doing and now it looks as if it's going to cost me," Devlin told the B'ham Evening Mail.

"We were in a tangle and he wouldn't let go of me - I have marks all over my shoulders - and then we fell on the floor.

"I admit I flicked my foot out, but I did not stamp on the lad as the referee and linesman made out.

"Yes, maybe I could have reacted better but that's my character and the referee loved being in charge on the night.

"Usually in pre-season they say that if there is anything naughty, they give the manager the nod to substitute you. It happened in the Forest Green Rovers game and against Exeter City when it got a bit tasty.

"I will be very disappointed if this means I won't be available for the start. It wasn't that sort of game."
