Jonty, an ever-present in the Blues side this season, picked up a hamstring injury in the 0-0 draw with Villa on Sunday and is expected to be sidelined for about a week whilst Savs has been advised to rest after rushing back from the Achilles injury that saw him sidelined for the two games previous to the Villa fixture against Manchester Utd and Chelsea.
“It’s a difficult one with Sav," Blues boss Steve Bruce told the B'ham Mail
"He trained a couple of times last week before coming back against Villa but, whatever you do in training, you cannot recreate what it will be like in a match, let alone a derby.
"It’s a niggly injury to have and we’re going to wait until he’s 100 per cent fit.”
