The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland goalkeeper played in the Pilgrims pre-season away friendly against Hereford United on Wednesday night and kept a clean sheet as Peter Reid's side won 1-0 at Edgar Street.

"Doyle looked very assured, a good stature. I thought he did well. " Reid told the official Plymouth website.

Doyle, who was part of the Blues squad that toured Hong Kong and China this month but was forced to return home early from the trip because of a family illness and so never got any pre-season match action, will remain at Home Park for a further week.
