The French striker, who has been on loan at St. Andrew's from Bordeaux since January, is ready to sign a contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2005 before Blues' last game of the season at home to West Ham on Sunday.

"Talks are going on but if I were a betting man I would think he will be a Birmingham City player for the foreseeable future," Blues boss Steve Bruce told the Press Association.

"We hope we can conclude things in the next 24 hours. We are very, very close. We are talking about a two-year deal.

"It was our suggestion that we would like to keep him for a couple of years. He has been thinking about it but it looks as if it is going to happen."
