Dugarry Substitution Explained

Any fears that the French forward may have been replaced because of a reaction to the knee injuries he has struggled with throughout the season were dismissed by Blues boss Steve Bruce.

Dugarry, along with Robbie Savage and Aliou Cisse, currently has four yellow cards to his name and one more booking will mean a one game ban.

"I just decided that when we were 3-1 down with 10 minutes to go, he's on four yellow cards and one more and he's suspended so I thought we could just give him a rest," said the Blues boss.

Damien Johnson was the only Blues player booked at Anfield moving him on to two yellow cards for the season.
