Bolton Wanderers had looked to have secured the services of the Blues midfielder after he passed a medical at The Reebok earlier this week but Rovers have now entered the race to sign the former Ewood Park favourite.
Dunn has always expressed a desire to return to his hometown club Rovers, who he left to join Blues in 2003.
