Midfielder Butt was missing from the Blues squad for Tuesday nights FA cup 3rd Round replay win against Torquay having sustained a calf injury whilst defender Martin Taylor sustained a leg injury during the match against The Gulls and will not have recovered in time for the game against Harry Redknapp's side at St Andrew's on Saturday.
Manager Steve Bruce is however confident that Taylor will have recovered in time for next weekend's FA Cup 4th Round trip to Reading where he is the obvious replacement for Matthew Upson who will be serving a one game suspension when Blues take on the Championship table-toppers at The Madejski Stadium.
