Eaden makes Wigan move permanent

Last updated : 20 October 2002 By Brian Cartlidge
After Wigan's game against Stockport on Saturday, Latics boss Paul Jewell confirmed to the press that a deal had been struck to take Eaden to the JJB Stadium on a permanent basis for an as yet undisclosed fee.

Eaden has agreed to a deal that runs for the rest of this season and then two more after that, keeping him at the JJB Stadium until 2005.

"Nicky's done very well on loan here and we are pleased he's agreed to come permanently. When we originally brought him in we always felt that we may look to make it a permanent deal and that's how it's turned out. He's got good experience and has real quality and has done exceptionally well so far. He's not played a lot of games in the past six months so his fitness can still improve and then he'll get even better," Jewell told the Wigan official website.

Eaden, who has not played in the first-team for Blues since January, is free to join Wigan despite the transfer window being shut until January for the Premier League - players can join Nationwide League clubs providing they have been on loan their first.
