Everton Agree Goal Could Have Been Disallowed

Blues boss Steve Bruce has said in his post match interviews that he felt Blues were harshly treated when goalkeeper Maik Taylor was challenged by two Everton players from a corner and the ball fell invitingly for Wayne Rooney to fire home the goal that seperated the two sides at Goodison Park.

And Everton coach Irvine agreed with the Blues boss in his after match comments: "We would not have been surprised to see the goal disallowed.

"It could easily have been a free kick. You are never sure these days when you see players go up with goalkeepers like that.

"The decision can go either way. We were fortunate it went our way today."
