FA To Investigate Dugarry/Short Incident

The two players came together near the half-way line moments into saturdays game which Rovers won 4-0. The Blues striker jumped for the ball with the Rovers defender behind him. Short fell to the floor under Dugarry's challenge with his nose bleeding heavily.

Referee Graham Barber did nothing about what appeared to be a normal challenge between two players but the FA have said they will be looking into the incident with the aid of video footage.

FA spokesman Andrin Cooper said: "We are awaiting the referee's report and, if it confirms that he did not see the Christophe Dugarry-Craig Short incident, then we will be requesting video footage of the incident."

Dugarry was sent-off by Mr Barber during the second half of the game after another tussle with the Rovers centre-back just prior to a Blues corner having already been booked and is already looking at a two game ban - one for the sending off and one for five bookings so far this season.
