Fagan Explains Red Card

Fagan, on loan at Layer Road for the rest of the season, was sent-off just 28 minutes into the U's 4-0 drubbing and with the score only 1-0 at the time of his red-card he felt somewhat responsible for the final scoreline.

"I've already apologised to the captain in the dressing room for letting the manager and the rest of the lads down," he told the Essex Chronicle.

"We were already one goal down and getting sent-off didn't help our cause at all. I was very upset for the lads.

"Their player tripped me and I caught him as I went down. The next thing I knew the referee was over me brandishing a red card."
