Forssell, who has bagged 16 Premiership goals in Blues colours so far this season, is due to return to Chelsea at the end of the season when his loan deal at St. Andrews expires.
The Blues board, management and fans alike are all waiting anxiously on a decision on the Finland internationals future which is in the hands of his employers at Chelsea at present.
As much as everyone at Blues would like to see Forssell become a Birmingham City player he had signed a new four year contract at Stamford Bridge prior to his arrival at St. Andrews last september and they may not want to sell him.
However, Gold has said that should Chelsea not want to part with Forssell permanently another option for Blues could be to try and extend his loan period into another season.
One things for sure - the 'sign him up' chants will be heard loud and clear at St Andrews again this saturday!!
