Forssell On The Mend

The Finland international striker had to return from his loan spell with Blues back to Chelsea for treatment on a knee injury which needed surgery back in September.

An update on the official Chelsea website from earlier this month reads: "Mikael Forssell saw his surgeon last week and everyone is pleased with his progress.

"We'll increase the intenisity of the rehabilitation slightly over the Christmas period, and in January work on strengthening once the injury has had enough time to recover."

"There will then be a 2 month period of slowly strengthening the knee after which he can get back out onto the training pitch.

"He could be back in action by around April."

Whether or not Forssell returns to Blues is a different matter. His loan deal was for the entire season but having needed an operation he obviously had to return to his rightful employers for treatment.

Since his departure Blues have struggled in front of goal and are clearly missing a marksman in the Forssell mould that can bag 15-20 goals in a season.

Lets hope the Fors can make a full recovery from the knee injury and you never know Blues maybe back knocking on Jose Mourinho's door for his services once more.
