The Turkish international midfielder has not bee seen in a Blues shirt since his sending off in the home game against Everon on 13th November having suffered a recurrence on the knee injury he sustained during the 2-2 draw with Newcastle at St Andrew's at the beginning of October.
Izzet has undergone an operation on the injury now and a 3/4 week timescale has been estimated as the recovery time following such surgery which will rule him out of all of Blues festive games.
