Furlong, who has recently spent a month long loan at QPR, is now free to sign for a club of his own choice.

He played six games for the London club during that spell and scored two goals.

Furlong, now 33, became Blues record signing when he was signed from Chelsea by former boss Trevor Francis for £1.5million in the summer of 1996.

He made over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 50+ goals.
