Good news for Upson

Upson sustained a dead-leg injury in his first full start for Sven Goran Eriksson's side against Serbia and Montenegro at The Walkers Stadium on Tuesday night and was replaced by Villa's Gareth Barry on 85 minutes.

However, the Blues centre-back has recovered in time to train with the squad in preparation for the Euro 2004 qualifier against Slovakia at Middlesbrough's Riverside stadium on Wednesday night.
