Bruce has told the Birmingham Evening Mail that he has done all that he can in trying to persuade the 25-year-old Danish international to remain in The Premiership with a summer switch to Blues.
Chelsea have accepted Blues' undisclosed bid to sign Gronkjaer but there is strong interest from Spanish sides Sevilla and Athletico Madrid for the player who moved to Stamford Bridge from Ajax four years ago for just under £8million.
