Upson is a reported target for a number of Premier League side's having turned down the offer of a new contract at St Andrew's.

However, manager Steve Bruce has siad that he intends to do all that he can to persuade the centre-back, who still has 18 months to run on his contract, to remain with Blues until at least the end of the season when the club are hopeful of a swift return to the top-flight.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle have all been linked with Upson over the past few months.
