When former Blues boss Trevor Francis signed Stan Lazaridis' from the Hammers in 1999 for £1.2 million it included the clause of an extra £500,000 once Blues won promotion from the First Division.

The Australian winger played a major part in the Blues triumph at Cardiff, replacing Tommy Mooney in the 69th minute and also converting Blues' third spot-kick in the Division One play-off final penalty shoot-out.
