The Blues striker, who returned to the starting line-up against his former club after missing the last two games with an Achilles injury, was shown a yellow card by referee Howard Webb, 72 minutes into the 2-0 win against the Merseysiders.
Heskey will now be suspended for one game and will sit out the trip to Selhurst Park on Saturday, 26th February.
