Howard Webb In The Middle For Spurs Game

Blues have already had the pleasure of Howard Webb refereeing three of their Premier League games so far this season whilst the South Yorkshire official has taken charge of just one Tottenham game.

The last time Mr Webb took charge of a Blues fixture was in the 2-0 win against Liverpool at St Andrew's in February when Emile Heskey and Olivier Tebily were shown yellow cards. Rate The Ref Vs Liverpool

Prior to the Liverpool game Howard Webb had been the man in the middle for the 2-2 home draw against Newcastle United back on 3rd October 2004. Stephen Clemance, David Dunn and the now departed Robbie Savage all picked up cautions on that occasion.

Howard Webb had also taken charge of Blues' first Premiership game of the season against Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Martin Taylor, Stan Lazaridis, Muzzy Izzet and Savage all picking up cautions during the 1-1 draw back in August.

The only Spurs game that Howard Webb has refereed so far this season was in their 0-0 draw against Norwich City at White Hart Lane in September. Pedro Mendes and the now departed Jamie Redknapp picking up yellow cards during that game.

In total Howard Webb has taken charge of 17 Premier League fixtures so far this season in which he has handed out 52 yellow cards but no reds as yet.
