Injury woe for Upson

The Blues centre-back, making his first start in an England jersey, was replaced by Villa's Gareth Barry five minutes from the end of the 2-1 victory at the Walkers stadium after suffering a dead-leg.

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson, when asked about the injury to Upson after the game, indicated that first thoughts were that it was not too bad but doctors and physio's will be assessing it.

The England squad re-group again on Saturday for the crucial Euro 2004 qualifier with Slovakia in Middlesbrough on Wednesday, June 11th.
