Injury Worries Ahead Of Spurs Clash

Two major casualties in the cup game with Blackburn last weekend were Matty Upson and Stan Lazaridis.

Upson has a badly sprained ankle and is expected to be sidelined for about eight weeks while Stan hobbled out of the game against Rovers with a groin injury and is expected to be out of action for 3 to 4 weeks.

On top of this midfielder Aliou Cisse was missing from the sixteen on Saturday with a thigh injury.

Left-back Jamie Clapham, who is expected to begin training again this week after a hamstring injury, is unlikely to be ready for the Spurs game.

French striker Christophe Dugarry is still a couple of weeks off making a return having completed a course of injections to his injured knee at the end of last week.

Olivier Tebily and Darren Purse are expected to be added to the squad for the trip to White Hart Lane but Bruce will have to make do without a regular left-back.

One option could be to play Jeff Kenna in that role or alternatively he could always call back either Tom Williams or Mat Sadler from their loan spells at Peterborough and Northampton respectively.
