Clinton Morrison and Kenny Cunningham both played the full ninety minutes of the Republic of Ireland's 0-0 draw with World Champions Brazil in Dublin.

“We had a few chances and it is a good result,” said Blues and Ireland skipper Kenny Cunningham after the game at Landsdown Road.

Over the Irish border, Blues keeper Maik Taylor and midfielder Damien Johnson were named in the starting eleven for Lawrie Sanchez's first game in charge of Northern Ireland in their game with Norway.

A change of manager did little for the Northern Ireland teams run of poor results however with Norway running out comfortable 4-1 winners in Belfast. David Healy scoring their their first international goal since October 2001.

At The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, Blues midfielder Robbie Savage was part of the Wales side that trounced Scotland 4-0. Rob Earnshaw bagging a hat-trick for Mark Hughes' side, his third goal coming courtesy of a superb through ball from Savs.
