International Blues: Bendtner Scores On Debut

Denmark: Nicklas Bendtner

Niklas Bendtner scored on his international debut to help Denmark beat Poland 2-0 in their international friendly at the Parken Stadion in Odense.

The 18-year-old on-loan Blues striker netted just past the half-hour mark and Dennis Rommedahl doubled the score for the hosts 17 minutes after the break.




Northern Ireland: Maik Taylor


Maik Taylor was named in the starting line up for Northern Irelands intenational friendly against Finland in Helsinki.

The Blues keeper kept goal for the first forty-five minutes as Lawrie Sanchez's side ran out 2-1 winners courtesy of goals from skipper David Healy and Burnley striker Kyle Lafferty.



Finland: Mikael Forssell

Blues striker Mikael Forssell was named in the starting line-up for Finland in the above fixture and played the first 58 minutes before being substituted for Blackburn Rovers striker Shefki Kuqi.

Mika Vayrynen scored what proved to be just a consolation goal for the Finns on 74 minutes.


Republic Of Ireland: Stephen Kelly

Defender Stephen Kelly was a second half substitute in the Republic of Irelands international friendly home defeat to Holland.

The Blues full back joined the action 20 minutes into the second period as Holland ran-out comfortable 4-0 winners against Steve Staunton's side at Landsdowne Road, Dublin.



Republic Of Ireland U21's: Colin Doyle & Marcos Painter

Goalkeeper Colin Doyle and defender Marcos Painter both completed the full ninety minutes in the Republic of Ireland's 2-0 UEFA Championship victory over Greece in Athens.

West Brom defender McShane opened the scoring after ten minutes and Sheffield Wednesday midfieder Glenn Whelan sealed the win for Don Givens' side with a second goal seven minutes after the break.



Tunisia: Medhi Nafti

Medhi Nafti was named in the starting line-up for Tunisia's international friendly against Mali.

The Blues midfielder played for the first forty-five minutes of his countries 1-0 defeat in France.
