McLeish has confirmed that the 25-year-old midfielder will join the Blues in the January.
"Hopefully we can get things tied up and he can join the club in January," Mcleish has said.
Blues are believed to paying an initial fee of around £300,000 for the PFAI Player of the Year which could rise to an estimated £600,000 based on appearance's.
