The Blues striker bagged his first Premier League goal of the season with a superb 30-yard strike in the 2-2 draw at Anfield on Monday night.
"To be honest I surprised myself," Jerome told BBC Radio WM.
"It's just one of those instinctive things. I knew there were only a couple of minutes to go before half-time and I thought you've got to shoot to score.
"That'll take some beating, I'd be happy if I scored a couple more of those."
