Justice!

Blues did what every club is asked to do and sent all of their called-up players off on international duty for the midweek friendlies - six in all.

One, Stan Lazaridis, came back with a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined for two weeks or more and with injuries to Matty Upson and Jamie Clapham gave manager Steve Bruce a real selection problem on Blues left hand side for the game at Villa Park.

This weekend I have noticed no end of players that were withdrawn from their countries international games, with everything from influenza to hamstring injuries being used as an excuse, having made remarkable recoveries and turned out for their clubs Premier League fixtures.

How ironic then that Stern John, who flew all the way back from Trinidad to be involved in the 100th local derby on Sunday after playing a full ninety minutes for his country on Wednesday, should grab the headlines with his last minute equaliser at Villa Park.

Nice one Stern!
