The Blues midfielder has been sidelined since the end of last month having sustained a hamstring injury during the 2-2 home draw against Arsenal.
Kapo has returned to full team training but assistant manager Roy Aitken has said that the game against Wigan at the JJB on Saturday could come too soon for him return.
James McFadden is also said to be recovering well from surgery on a knee injury and he is expected to return to the first team in time for next Saturday's game against his former club Everton.
