Kilkenny, who was making his Premiership debut, was sent-off by referee Steve Bennett for the deliberate handball that led to the penalty that earned Liverpool a point from the game at St Andrew's on Saturday.
The young Blues midfielder will now be suspended for one game and so misses the chance to face his old club Arsenal at Highbury next Sunday.
