The Swedish international winger was forced to be substituted at half time during the 1-1 draw against Newcastle after picking up a knee injury following a hefty challenge from former Blues loanee Nicky Butt.

However, scans have shown that the injury is not as bad as first feared and Larsson could be in the squad for Saturday's game at The Madejski Stadium on Saturday.

"It is not a bad one," Larsson told the Birmingham Mail.

"It was checked at half-time and it opened up a bit so we didn't want to risk making it any worse.

"I've had it before on this knee, so it shouldn't be a big problem."
