Leicester apologise over 'shambles'

The temporary transfer was not allowed by the Football League because City are still in administration and a frustrated Adams, not for the first time, called the situation at the club a shambles.

He said: "It is just one more case of a shambles to add to the list. I had agreed to bring the player here on a short-term loan so that we could strengthen our team, so it is rather embarrassing that it has not gone through.

"I have spoken to Birmingham manager Steve Bruce this morning, apologised to him and asked him to pass the apology on to the player.

"When I am led to believe that I could bring in loan players, and that is what I was told, then to be told I can't it is slightly embarrassing."
