The left-back, who has not travelled with the 20-man party for the Asia Cup in Malaysia, was loaned out to second division side QPR for the whole of last season.
Williams, who made a second-half appearance in the friendly win over Burton, has made only four appearances for Blues since signing from Peterborough in March 2002.
