Mark Halsey In The Middle For Man Utd Clash

Last updated : 15 October 2004 By Brian Cartlidge
The Lancashire official has not refereed a game for either side so far this season.

The last Blues game that Mr Halsey took charge of was in the 4-1 home win against Leeds United back on 27th March. No Blues players were booked that day.

Mr Halseys other game in charge of a Blues fixture last season came in the 3-0 home win against Everton on 11th February. Defender Olivier Tebily was the only Blues player booked on that occasion.

Manchester United's last game with Mark Halsey officiating came in their 1-0 home win against Leicester City on 13th April this year. No United players were booked during that game.

In total Mark Halsey has refereed four games so far this season and handed out eleven yellow cards but no reds.

Mr Halsey was the subject of strong criticism during one of the fixtures he refereed earlier this season when he reversed his own decision to award Fulham a penalty in their defeat against Arsenal after seeking a linesman’s advice.

Mr J Holbrook and Mr M Tingey will be Mark Halseys assistants for the game at St Andrews this Saturday - kick-off 12.45pm.
