Alex McLeish has missed out on being named as the Championship manager of the month for August with the award going to Mick McCarthy of Wolves.
McCarthy's side sit at the top of the table on goal difference over both Preston and Blues with Bristol City in fourth spot.
As well as McLeish, Preston boss Andy Irvine and Bristol City manager Gary Johnson had all along with McCarthy been nominated for the award which is sponsored by Powerade.
