Mr Dean from The Wirral has not refereed a game involving either Blues or Southampton so far this season.

The last time Mike Dean took charge of a Blues game was in the 2-2 home draw with Wolves on 25th April 2004. Just Robbie Savage was booked during that game.

Mr Dean also refereed Blues' 3-0 away defeat against Manchester United last season. Goalkeeper Maik Taylor saw red that day whilst the now departed Aloui Cisse was yellow carded.

The last Southampton game refereed by Mike Dean was in their 1-1 away draw against Blackburn Rovers on 28th February 2004, defender Jason Dodd the only Saints player booked in that game.

In total Mike Dean has taken charge of six Premiership fixtures so far this season. Twenty-six yellow cards and three reds have been brandished in these games.

Mr R Bone and Mr K Pike will be Mike Deans assistants at St Mary's on Sunday.
