Leeds granted the England international permission to speak to other clubs about a possible loan move away from Elland Road early last week and Blues boss Steve Bruce seems to have been the first boss to make an approach for the out-of-favour right-back.
However, the news of Mills being made available seems to have stirred other clubs into showing an interest and the player now looks set to join Steve McClarens side on a season long loan deal in preference to a move to St. Andrew's, if reports are to be believed.
